Dancing with Rainbows This painting happened during a particular chaotic period when major changes were taking place. I followed the painting where it wanted to go, colour became the main focus. I wanted to make the painting brighter and brighter, finally abandoning the work when I felt I was just going over and over the colours. I laughed when I read the following quote, realising it to be so true. Rainbow Buddha Rainbow Buddha was an experiment to use as many bright, primary colours as possible. I wanted it to be a relatively quick painting, with bold, colourful strokes, using colours reminiscent of a rainbow A beautiful double-rainbow after an April shower. The sheer amount of light the rainbow showered over the houses wasn't picked up by the naked eye, it was a pleasant surprise that the camera had captured this illuminance of light.continue reading →
