When a friend asked me to paint her horses, I was a touch unsure as I've only ever painted one horse before and that was a study of Lucy Kemp-Welch's painting of  'In the Sunset'. As my favourite artist is Franz Marc, and I love all forms of Expressionism, I decided to continue to work with the bright colours I enjoy using, and hopefully I've expressed the flow and freedom of the two horses who obviously share a great friendship. Spring Buddha

This painting started off as a black and white painting, with the intention of repeating a project I have been enjoying, Zendoodles. I had drawn a Buddha as a Zendoodle and I wanted to carry out the same idea on canvas with acrylic paint, it lasted for a day, and then I sneaked in a bit of colour, and then another and another, and the painting took over, and became an expression of the coming Spring. Red Deer

Walking through the hills of the Lomonds, a Spring day, the hills thick with dew-covered ferns, a movement higher up caught my eye, a red deer within my sights. We both freeze, caught in each others glance, no movement, frozen in time, we are in each other’s hold, bonded for an eternal, poignant moment, nothing exists outside our gaze, frozen in time, no distance between us, our awareness becomes one.
