Pittenweem is a fishing village, with the most active fishing harbour on the whole of the East Neuk Coast. The harbour is in the centre of the village along East Shore. Pittenweem Parish Church and Tolbooth Steeple can be seen rising above the surrounding buildings. The structure, which is used as the local parish church, is a Category A listed building, a sacred site dating from the 11th century.
