This quilt uses pieces of embroidery I did years ago, which then lay idle in a folder I hadn’t opened for years.
Its fun to look out for colourful scraps of fabric from charity shops and carboot sales. The central motif for this quilt was found in a charity shop. I was also lucky in picking up a book of fabric ‘sample’ squares from a fabric shop.
I don’t have the skills or patience to do traditional or complicated quilts, so these small art quilts are fun to do and for now have captured my interest. I enjoy painting or finding a central motif for each quilt and then, building up the quilt wth colour. Using an old hand-machine brings with it a certain novelty for me also, I enjoy using it.
